 Hello everyone 

A person accomplished with what I study that I admire is Lisa Meitner who contributed to the study of nuclear fission. She discovers a new radioactive isotope, and she was in the team that discovered nuclear fission. She was the second woman to have a doctor´s degree in Physics, she has to escape Germany in the Second World War. His breakthrough in nuclear physics paved the way for the creation of the first atomic bomb, other nuclear weapons, and later nuclear fission as energy.

She doesn’t receive a Nobel Prize in Chemistry for this advance but her collaborator yes, was 19 times nominated for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and 29 for the Nobel Prize of Physics.

We have a chemistry element with her name, the Meitnerium. She dies in 1968 in the United Kingdom, she was called the “German Marie Curie”.

I admire Lisa because being a woman scientist in the time she lives was very difficult and this is already admirable. Although his greatest discovery can be seen as something negative, it helped a lot to know everything we know today about nuclear energy, and thanks to her and her group we can today, in some countries, have cheap energy and nothing polluting.

Blog 3 "My favorite piece of technology"

Hello everyone My favorite piece of technology is headphones. Because is an object I use a lot and I can´t leave my house without them. The headphones have a one function for me, to listen to something, I can listen to music, a movie, a series, an audiobook, etc. I usually use the headphones with my cell phone to listen to music when I go to university, and this forms the way to my house and for the university it is more fun and calmer, this form I don´t listen to the noise sounds of the subway or the bus. In my house also use this especially for look a video o something like this.  Sometimes using headphones is not the best, because sometimes I put the music a “little” loud and I can't hear people and when they talk to me for something I don't listen, but now I only use one headphone in this form is more comfortable  I really recommend people use headphones -especially to people who watch videos in subway at full volume- they are very comfortable, there are of all ...

Blog 5 'How can your major make the world a better place'

 Hello everyone. I think my career (chemistry) can help the world because we can look at the past and see a lot of advances that chemistry and science, in general, have contributed.   As much as there helped the world, there have also been negative things, but I think we have more positive things, like the vaccine for Covid-19 or a lot of stuff for making life easier. In the future, I see myself helping the world and making a contribution to the life of the people and I hope to contribute to science, maybe in things like a vaccine or maybe teaching other people who are interested in this area. Chemistry contributes to the world multiple times, and we can see it now around the world, like the medicine you take when you are sick, the things you use to clean something, the discoveries in different areas that make the life easier, and a lot of other advances, all these things make the chemistry something important for the world and for the future. Blog 4: Topic 1

 Hello everbody. Then I food like is the pizza because is very delicious. Maybe all the people know who the pizza is but is circular wheat flour with a circular shape that is covered with tomato sauce and cheese and different ingredients are put on top like pepperoni, basil, mushrooms, meat, etc it depends on the type of pizza you like. Finally, you put it in the oven. I like this food because the combination of the ingredients is incredible and I love the taste. Eating pizza is not healthy, because have a lot of bad ingredients but if you eat with responsibility is not bad, in some places exists healthy pizza with other types of flour or ingredients healthier but this doesn’t have the same taste as an original pizza but maybe can be an option. My favorite pizza is the pepperoni and Margarita because they are simple and have good taste. Thanks for reading
